PROFESSIONAL SERIES                                       NETWORK THERMOSTATS

The Proliphix Professional Series Network Thermostats are intended for installation to control light commercial HVAC systems. The Professional Series is ideally suited for “small box” commercial applications where the expense of an Energy Management System is prohibitive but remote management of the HVAC system is mandatory. The Professional Series Thermostats provide a significantly lower cost alternative to HVAC monitoring and control than high end building automation solutions.

The Professional Series include all the features of our Basic Series Thermostats plus more advanced commercial grade features.  Some commercial class features include, dual stage and fan scheduling support along with setpoint override limits, button lockout capability and in some models, one button override and humidity sensing.

There are four models within the Professional Series of Network Thermostats; NT120e/h,  NT130e/h, NT150e/h, and the NT160e/h.  The suffix designation indicates power options which include either Ethernet Powered ("e") or HVAC powered ("h").  All models support dual stage fossil fuel or heat pump (w/Aux heat) HVAC systems. In addition, all models include advanced HVAC control capability.

All Professional Series models also include support for two external wired thermal sensors.  Examples for remote thermal sensing could include air duct temperature monitoring or outdoor air temperature reporting.

The NT120e/h is our least expensive Pro Series model.  The NT130e/h includes all the same features as the NT120e/h along with unique Dayclass naming and the one button override feature.  Humidity sensing and control is included on both the NT150e/h and NT160e/h models.  The NT160e/h models also includes independent device control via time-of-day scheduling of an auxiliary relay.  Applications for the NT160e/h auxiliary relay could include lighting control, pump actuation, damper control etc.  Please review the Professional Series Product Brief for a complete listing of all the features by Pro Series models.

Humidity Sensing & Control on the NT150e/h and NT160e/h models

Relative humidity is sampled once a minute and has an accuracy of ±3.0%.  The reading includes temperature compensation for temperature readings significantly different from 77°F.

Relative humidity (RH) may be controlled by activating the HVAC cooling system in response to the measured RH rising above a pre-set threshold.  When the measured RH rises above this threshold (between 10% and 90%), the HVAC cooling cycle will be initiated.  The cycle will continue until the humidity level falls 5% below the trigger level or until a heat setpoint is encountered.

Both the NT150e/h and the NT160e/h models include an auxiliary relay which can be activated by several pre-defined triggers.  This External Relay can be triggered in response to the following events.

· Zone temperature above a temperature trigger point
· Zone temperature below a temperature trigger point
· Relative humidity above a relative humidity trigger point (can activate an external dehumidifier)
· Relative humidity below a relative humidity trigger point (can activate an external humidifier)

· Time-of-day scheduling (NT160e/h only)

A high humidity alarm may be generated if the sensed relative humidity has exceeded a pre-set threshold between 10% and 90% RH.  The alarm notification mechanism is identical to the already existing High/Low Temperature alarms present on all other Professional Series Network Thermostats.

Thermostat Management Interface

The Thermostat Management Interface (TMI) can be accessed on a local network from any computer which has installed an approved Proliphix web browser. Proliphix supports the following web browsers:

   • Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher on Windows XP, XP Professional
   • Mozilla Firefox 1.0 on either Windows XP, XP Professional, MAC

Advanced Settings

HVAC installers find that the Advanced Settings TMI page includes parameters and settings most required to properly configure the thermostat for conventional fuel or heat pump technologies, adjust for energy efficiency or equipment reliability, and to control external humidification or de-humidification equipment.

Network Connectivity

The NT Professional Series thermostats can be connected to your existing local data network by wiring through a conventional Cat5 and 110 punch-down distribution method.
